Counselling Contract

Please read the following information, this is the contract that you will sign and date prior to commencing counselling with me.

Professional Body

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) which forms professional standards for counselling. 

Qualification

I am qualified with a BA (Hons) Counselling Degree with First Class Honours. 

Insurance 

I am insured with Towergate Insurnance.

Information Commissioner’s Office 

I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office, who are responsible for upholding information rights and data privacy for individuals. Please ensure you have read my Privacy Policy on this website which explains how your personal data is processed in accordance with GDPR. 

Confidentiality 

An important aspect of counselling is confidentiality between client and counsellor. Confidentiality will only be broken if there is a serious risk of harm to the client or someone around them. I will always try to involve the client in this process. 

Counsellors are required to have supervision throughout their counselling career to ensure they are working professionally and ethically. Clients’ cases are discussed but personal details are not disclosed, for example name or address. 

Sessions

The first session is 60 minutes and all further sessions are 50 minutes. Please arrive on time for sessions in order that you are able to use the full amount of time allocated, as other client appointments may be before and after your session. 

Please ensure any contact between sessions is only of an essential nature, eg cancellation or change of session and, wherever possible, do so via text.

Fees 

Individual sessions are £50 and couples and family sessions are £65. Reduced fees can be discussed for trainee counsellors, senior citizens and individuals on a low income. Payment can be made by cash on attendance of the session. Alternatively, bank transfer can be made prior to sessions. Bank details will be given at the first session. 

Cancellation of a Session 

Please give 48 hours’ notice to avoid full cancellation charge of a session. Wherever possible, I will always try to accommodate alternative counselling times. Please let me know if you have holidays arranged and I will also do the same. 

Amount of Sessions 

Every individual requires different aspects from counselling and therefore the amount of sessions will vary.

Working Hours 

My working hours are 9 am to 9 pm Monday to Friday. I will always endeavour to returns calls within 24 working hours.
