Hello,

You’ve just taken the first step to making a positive change to your life.

Working together, counselling gives you the opportunity to think clearer and make the necessary changes for a happier life - enabling you to enjoy the things which are important to you.

Counselling is available face-to-face, following all the government guidelines, in a comfortable counselling room, with over two metres apart.  Please refer to the Covid Policy on my website for safety measures.  Counselling is also available by telephone and online.

To help you decide whether counselling is right for you, please take a look at my website. Alternatively, if you prefer, please phone me on 07941 809328 and I’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Take care,
Lisa

What brings people to

counselling?

There are many reasons why life can feel difficult to cope with, causing unhappiness, anxiety and depression.

Major life changes can be a struggle, such as parenting, relationship issues with family and friends, divorce, career change, retirement, coping with illness or the death of a loved one.

Issues from the past sometimes hold us back from enjoying our lives and sometimes new issues make life difficult to manage.  The recent Covid pandemic may have added further anxiety to an already stressful life.

Some turn to food or alcohol as a coping mechanism, to then find they are unable to manage their consumption or cope without it.  Others simply function from one day to the next, feeling overwhelmed, not enjoying the moments in life they know they should.

Counselling offers the opportunity to take control of life and work towards a happier future.

How can counselling

help?

Although family and friends may play a supportive role in our lives, counselling offers a safe and trusting space to work through difficulties, to be completely honest, without fear of judgement.

I work with a Person-Centred approach which means I work towards understanding your feelings and experiences from your perspective.  I offer encouragement to explore and understand your troubles and move forward in life.

I also incorporate other Humanistic elements of working, for example Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Existential Therapy. Additionally, Cognitive Behavioural or Acceptance therapy elements may be used.

Counselling techniques and length of counselling is unique to your personal goals and issues.
